From a breakaway with Nicky Samuels and Kate McIlroy early in the bike and then running away from the field on the run, Jody Stimpson’s win in the Auckland ITU Triathlon Series race was well earned.

While not expecting to repeat her well-oiled race from last year, Anne Haug came in an impressive second in her new role as a ‘sport-soldier‘; a terrifying name for a pint-sized woman.
