Olympic Hill

Braving the wind and snow to reach the summit of Olympic Hill.

Munich’s Olympiapark may have been the site of the 1972 summer Olympics, but come winter a different scene emerges. Slopes all around the Olympiapark become playgrounds to slide down.

Just to the right of this scene was a major slope with the public out in force in full ski gear while a glimpse of the city bled through the blizzard in behind. The task at hand for this intrepid walker, however, was the climb up Olympic Hill with the howling wind increasing with every rise up the path to the exposed summit.
