Driving on from the green, lush lower levels of the Crown Range, the upper levels can be described as… lumpy. Tussock covered, weather exposed peaks are not kind to nature’s skin.
Turning your attention west gives a view down Crown Range Rd and through to a glimpse of Lake Wakatipu. This line of sight is approximately the flight path through the mountain ranges that your plane takes to get you to Queenstown.
Once over the crest of the lumpy range, the approach flattens out to the target that precede the water. Definitely one of the more picturesque landings you’ll enjoy.
